Bivariate statistical measures regression and correlation.
Regression
- Regression analysis refers to the fact that there is a link between various events. One of the tools that allows us to infer whether such a link exists is precisely the correlation analysis.
- Goal
- It is trying to explain the relationship that exists between a dependent variable and a set of independent variables, building a function that allows estimating and calculating the value of the study variable.
- Floating rate
- Independent or regressive variable
- They are used as predictors of confounding variables.
- Dependent or response variable
- It is used to observe, make changes or predictions in the factors.
- Independent or regressive variable
- Goal
- Regression analysis refers to the fact that there is a link between various events. One of the tools that allows us to infer whether such a link exists is precisely the correlation analysis.
Correlation
- Correlation refers to a link between various events. One of the tools that allows us to infer that if there is a link is precisely the analysis of a correlation.
- Goal
- Correlation analysis is a statistical procedure to determine if two variables are related or not. Indicating if there is a relationship between two events either by said relationship or force
- Floating rate
- direct correlation: Direct correlation occurs when increasing one of the variables increases the other. The line corresponding to the cloud of points of the distribution is an increasing line.
- inverse correlation: Inverse correlation occurs when one variable increases and the other decreases. The line corresponding to the point cloud of the distribution is a decreasing line.
- null correlation: The null correlation occurs when there is no dependency of any kind between the variables. In this case, the variables are said to be uncorrelated and the point cloud has a rounded shape
- Degree of correlation
- Weak correlation: This correlation is weak when the points on the line are separated.
- Strong correlation: This correlation is stronger the more nearby are the points on the line.
- Null correlation: In this correlation there is no type of pattern or relationship between them.
- Correlation coefficient
- Goal
- Correlation refers to a link between various events. One of the tools that allows us to infer that if there is a link is precisely the analysis of a correlation.
