COMPARATIVE
Used when comparing two things.
The two basic ways to compare are using: AS or THAN.
EXAMPLES
She´s twice as old as her sister. Russian is not quite as difficult as chinese. Our car is bigger than your car.
Syllable adjectives: add- ER to the adjective
EXAMPLE
Tall - Taller Neat - Neater
Syllable adjectives : ending in - y change the y to IER
EXAMPLE
Happy - Happier Easy - Easier
Other 2-syllable adjective: use MORE with the unchanged adjective
EXAMPLE
The shops are always more crowded just before christmas
Adjectives with 3 or more syllables: use MORE with the unchanged adjective
EXAMPLE
Russian gramar is more difficult tan English grammar
SUPERLATIVE
Talk about one thing only and how it is the best , worst...etc. You do not compare two things. The following guidelines apply to the superlative
Syllable adjectives: add - EST to the adjective (plus the)
EXAMPLE
Cold - Coldest Deep - Deepest
If the Word ends: consonant-vowel-consonant, then the last consonant is usally doubled in the superlative
EXAMPLE
Big- Biggest Fat- Fattest
Syllable adjectives ending in Y : change y to IEST (PLUS THE)
EXAMPLE
Lucky - Luckiest
Do not confuse adjectives and adverbs
Other 2- syllables adjectives: use THE MOST with the unchanged adjective
EXAMPLE
Albert Einstein was the most intelligent person in history
