       • Hitler and the Nazis already tried to control people , and create the perfect world by creating the perfect race Also when the book was published, WWII had ended and people were skeptic about the role of the government, spies, and organizations in general

       • Goldein's book, you could say, was based on Thoreau's ideas. This is also represented by Winston's saying, "If there is hope, it lies on the Proles. "
