          1. Recessive
            1. You need two copies for it to affect you

              Annotations:

              • Needs a copy of two of the alleles for it affect you one from the male and one from the female
            2. Dominant
              1. Only need one copy for it to affect you.

                Annotations:

                • only needs one copy of the allele for it affect you either needs it from the female or male

                • (dominant allele)
              2. Cystic Fibrosis
                1. This is a recessive disease; causing thick mucus in the body which affects a number of organs, particularly the lungs and digestive system

                  Annotations:

                  • (recessive allele)
              3. Variations

                                  2. Cloning
                                    1. Clones are organisms that are exact genetic copies. Every single bit of their DNA is identical
                                      1. Clones can happen naturally- identical twins are just one of many examples
                                        1. In nature, twins form very early in development when the embryo splits in two. Twinning happens in the first days after egg and sperm join, while the embryo is made of just a small number of unspecialised cells. Each half of the embryo continues dividing on its own, ultimately developing into separate, complete individuals. Since they developed from the same fertilized egg, the resulting individuals are genetically identical.
                                        2. Clones can be made using modern cloning technologies
                                          1. Artificial embryo twinning
                                            1. Artificial embryo twinning uses the same approach as natural twinning, but it is carried out in a Petri dish instead of inside the mother. A very early embryo is separated into individual cells, which are allowed to divide and develop for a short time in the Petri dish. The embryo's are then placed into a surrogate mother, were they finish developing. Again, since all the embryo's came from the same fertilized egg, they are genetically identical.
                                            2. Somatic cell nuclear transfer
