1. It's non-volatile storage. it is used in a computer system to store your programs, operating system and files(pof).

   • Non-volatile means that the date is not deleted when the computer system has no power connected to it.

2. Optical drive

   • DVD
   • Blu Ray
   • CD
   • not very durable. they can scrach and break easily
   • really portable and can be played on lots of devices
   • You would use them to store films and files that you want to travel with

3. Magnetic storage

   • External hard drive
   • Magnetic hard drive
   • high capacity (stores a lot of data)
   • slower read/write speed in comparison to sold state storage
   • you would use them to store files as they have lots of space

4. Solid state (flash) storage

   • Solid state hard drive
   • USB memory stick
   • Excellent read/write speed. (It loads and saves data quickly)
   • not good compacity commperd to magnetic storage
   • you would use them to stare the operating system and other apps as they will run quicker
