1. CPU Functions

   • Carries out instructions
     • Referred to as the "brains of the computer
       • Executes stored information

2. The register

   • Holds instructions
     • Found inside the CPU

3. The ALU

   • Stands for Arithmetic/logical Unit
     • It represents the fundamental building block of the CPU

4. The CU

   • Stands for the control unit
     • It is right next to the ALU and the virtual memory
       • It lets the logic unit know how to respond to instructions recieved from a program

5. The virtual memory

   • Is below the ALU and the CU
     • It has a memory management capability of an OS that uses hardware and software

6. Microprocessors

   • It is an integrated circuit that contains the functions of a CPU of a computer
