     • 1GHz can execute 1 billion instructions per second

   • Where data is read and executed
   • e.g core i7 or i9
   • processors
     • processors can have multiple cores
     • like the 'brain' of the computer
       • more commonly known as the CPU
         • CPU- central processing unit

   • small amount of commonly used data
   • stores commonly used data for a certain amount of time.
   • very fast but very small
   • can sometimes cause errors in the system if bugged
