Position of Adverbs

Manner (slowly, fluently)
1. after the verb or verb phrase
  1. They walked aggressively through the city
2. With passive verbs they go in mid-position
  1. Mike was seriously injured
Frequency
1. Before the main verb and after the verb "to be"
  1. He is always on time
2. The adverbs: sometimes, usually and normally can also be put at the beginning
3. If there are 2 auxiliaries, the adverb goes after the first one
  1. He has always been with me
Time and Place
1. At the end of the sentence or clause
  1. My mother will be here in a minute
2. Place adverbs go before time adverbs
Degree
1. Extremely, incredibly, very...etc = before adjectives and adverbs
  1. a lot and much=after verbs
    1. a little, a bit (of) = before adjectives and after verbs
Comment
1. They give the speaker's opinion and go at the beginning of the sentence or clause
  1. luckily, basically, clearly, obviously, apparently, eventually
