TYPES OF COMPUTERS

1. Pc/Desktop Computers

   • A desktop computer is a personal computer that is designed to fit conveniently on top of a typical office desk.
     • • Advanteges
         • Lots of memory space, easy to upgrade, fast processors, no battery large screen ( depending on the monitor), cheaper than laptops and tablets .
       • Disadvantages
         • Large footprint, needS keyboard, mouse and monitor, big and heavy, can be noisy, requires a separate monitor, probably without wireless connection, not portable.

2. Laptop Computer

   • A laptop computer, sometimes called a notebook computer by manufacturers, is a battery- or AC-powered personal computer generally smaller than a briefcase that can easily be transported and conveniently used in temporary spaces such as on airplanes, in libraries, temporary offices, and at meetings.
     • • Advantages
         • Easy to carry, small and light weight, powered by battery, portable
       • Disadvantages
         • Very expensive, less ergonomic than a desktop, easy to steal or loose, can over heat easily because it is a compact system

3. Tablet

   • A tablet is a wireless, portable personal computer with a touchscreen interface. The tablet form factor is typically smaller than a notebook computer, but larger than a smartphone.
     • • Advantages
         • Small and light weight, recognizes handwriting, can be used as a GPS system, great for note taking, can connect keyboard on it, multi-touch screen, can connect to internet from anywhere., long battery lifetime
       • Disadvantages
         • Easy to damage, weak capability, traditional key-boards are mush more comfortable, small screen, high cost, don’t have optical drives for CDs and DVDs ,less number of ports, cant work with massive amounts of data

4. Smartphone

   • A smartphone is a cellular telephone with an integrated computer and other features not originally associated with telephones, such as an operating system, Web browsing and the ability to run software applications.
     • • Disadvantages
         • Privacy Endangered, Distraction, Health Issues, Addiction, Wrapping Up
       • Advantages
         • Privacity, keep in touch easily, Easey Access To Your Email, Social Media Networks, Finish Many Tasks Easier, GPS, Entertainment, Find Something To Do.

5. Smartwatches

   • A smartwatch is a wearable computing device that closely resembles a wristwatch or other time-keeping device. In addition to telling time, many smartwatches are Bluetooth-capable. The watch becomes, in effect, a wireless Bluetooth adaptor capable of extending the capabilities of the wearer's smartphone to the watch. In such a case, the wearer can use the watch's interface to initiate and answer phone calls from their mobile phone, read email and text messages, get a weather report, listen to music, dictate email or text messages or ask a digital assistant a question.
     • • Advantages
         • Quick access to notifications, Never miss your calls, Personalized information and health tracking, Make calls and send messages, Watch movies and listen to music, New watch faces every day and Navigation.
       • Disadvantages
         • Limited battery life, Inaccurate data, Very small screen, Not a necessary gadget, Gets outdated easily, Expensive, Bands get damaged through constant water interaction, and Cheaper fitness bands are available if your aim is to track your fitness.

6. Mainframe Computers

   • A data processing system employed mainly in large organizations for various applications, including bulk data processing, process control, industry and consumer statistics, enterprise resource planning, and financial transaction processing.
     • • Advantages
         • High response time, Virtual machine, Better usage of software and hardware, Problem solving and High security, High .
       • Disadvantages
         • High skilled people, Not good GUI, High cost, Consumes more space and Cooling system required
