    1. Don't add anyone as friends if you don't know.
      1. Even if your friend is friends with someone you don't know don't add them.
        1. People out there could be smart and talk to you
          1. Only message people you know.
          2. Don't put your phone number and home address on your profile.
            1. Don't put your email address on a public profile.
              1. Putting your email address online could lead to strange people emailing you viruses and bugs.
              2. The consequences could be people phoning you up and asking you to stuff for them or send stuff if your not careful.
                1. Putting your home address on your profile means anybody could just go to your house and maybe try to break in/rob your house.
              3. Facebook, KIK, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram,
                1. Snapchat, Youtube, Vine, Tango, Skype, Xbox live etc.
                2. Make sure your profile is on private and only your friends can see anything personal that you don't want the whole internet to know.
                  1. The internet isn't all bad there are advantages of having social networking sites.
                    1. Having social networking on mobile devices is good because then you don't have to wait until you get to your computer to talk to anyone on Facebook for instants you can just pick up your phone.
                  2. Don't put personal things/problems all over the internet.
                    1. The danger of posting personal things could lead to people finding it out and use it against you in a way/use it to embarrass you.
                    2. Main Dangers of Facebook
                      1. People can steal your information and make a fake account and add all your friends, the hacker could say things and post inappropriate things.
                        1. Anyone can message you if your profile isn't on private, so you have to be careful on who messages you.
                        2. Main Dangers of Snapchat
                          1. Once you have opened a picture you can only replay a picture once a day so if someone was sending horrible messages to you you can't show anyone to prove it. You have to be careful who you add.
                          2. cyberbullying
                            1. Tell someone if you are being bullied.
                              1. You can be cyberbullied via text, email, websites, phone calls, writing posted over the internet (Facebook and Twitter)
                              2. Keep any of the mean messages you get sent as evidence.
                                1. Don't retaliate/fight back.
                                  1. It could easily make things worse
                                  2. Don't leave the bullying to continue for a while let someone know immediately.
                                    1. Block them from any site they have you on preferably once it has been sorted out.
                                    2. Passwords
                                      1. Never tell anyone any of your passwords to any account.
                                        1. Change your password at least twice a year to keep your profile safe.
                                          1. You can probably change your password in your privacy settings.
                                          2. The most common passwords are pet names and 'passwords'
                                            1. Think of a password that isn't very easy to guess.
                                            2. They could hack into any of your accounts and change anything they wanted and do anything they wanted, they could completely mess up any account you have with the password you have provided them with.

                                              1. Trojan Horse
                                                1. It's a virus that may look harmless but trick you into installing them on your computer.
                                                  1. It is normally used for online fraud and theft.
                                                2. Worm
                                                  1. They're designed to take control of computers and steal confidential information.
                                                    1. Worms often infect computers by putting bugs in softwares.
                                                  2. Malware
                                                    1. Malware is like trojan horse, it installs things on your machines and performs unwanted tasks.
                                                    2. To prevent having any viruses you need to read through any agreeing terms or that will happen when you install it so you don't have your home page changed.
                                                      1. When installing anti-viruses you must scan it, read all of the information being shown and un-tick any boxes they would lead to pop ups/search browsers.
                                                        1. When using anti virus you must remember to read through everything that is information on installing it.
                                                        2. Your digital footprint is where whatever you put on the internet is added to it and can always be traced back.
                                                          1. On websites to check if they are safe and if you are worried about personal information being stolen or your money being wasted when you are shopping online look in the tool bar where the website link is and if it has a padlock symbol it's safe and trustworthy.
                                                            1. It's important to check if that is there or anybody could lside in and get any personal information being sent off.
