Motivation for attackers LO 2.3

1. Espionage - spying to either steal trades or any secrets from other countries.

2. righting perceived wrongs - when you take revenge by messing with the server and you get sacked so you change the admin so no one can use the server.

3. publicity - when an individual hacks into a big website to publicise something.

4. fraud - when someone sends a fake website so someone can login to it and the individual can get personal information

5. public good - a group may have dangerous things on their website and an individual can hack into the website to take down the website

6. thrill - hacking into a website for the fun and thrill of it however it is still illegal

7. income generation - stealing customer bank details by setting up a fake website to get money

8. score settling - another business stole some of your information so you decide to shut down their website for a day or two.
