Maximilien Robespierre was the head of the Committee of Public Safety

2. Leader of the Jacobins
3. Supported by the sans Cullotes
Results of the Reign of Terror
1. 18,000 guillotined
2. 40,000 officially dead
3. Many more killed in Vendee
4. Ended in July 1794 with arrest and execution of Robespierre
