Problem-solving algorithms and their process
Steps to algorithm development
- Description and identification of the problem: you can identify two actors representing the stages of this, a "client" who requires a solution to a problem he determines, and, a developer, who analyzes and develops a solution.
- Analyze the problem: determining both the beginning and end of the solution. Determining the beginning requires one to recognize the data available, and the relationships the data shares. The end depends more on knowing when we will end
- Develop a High-level algorithm: drawing an algorithm usually requires detailed steps, however, sometimes it is better to leave low-significance details at last as they can derail the idea of a solution.
- Refine the algorithm: this step is simpler, as it consists of adding details of a solution that's already planned.
- Review the algorithm: This step requires backtracking on your own steps to know whether or not the algorithm will be sufficient. For example, does it address a more specific problem, or a more general situation
An Algorithm can be easily defined as the process or plan required for solving any dilemma
