Things that are out of our control can happen that change our lives.
Conflict is often an integral part of a nations history, that has or can change a society drastically.
We all suffer from conflict in our lives, it can be as small as a tiff with a friend or as large as a war. Conflict is a part of every day life.
Not everyone in the world lives a life that is as safe and protected as ours
1. 'Boy Overboard' by Morris Glietzman is often studied as a year 7 text, but could be read as a class book
Sometimes people do bad things
Everyone has different opinions and beliefs that need to be respected
History is often written from the victors perspective, does this make it 100% truthful?
Conflict has resided in Australia's history
1. Aboriginals vs. European Settlers
2. Sacking of Gough Whitlam
3. Stolen Generation/Kevin Rudd 'I'm Sorry'
Conflict effects more than just those directly involved. It has a wave like effect on everyone
When a nation is in trouble, other nations for aliances with each other and help. E.g. America and Australia
The world is full of people with different ideas, ideals, values and beliefs. This is part of what makes us interesting, but can also cause disagreement
