1. formulae in a spreadsheet

   • an expression that can write in a cell for making calculations, doing statistical analysis and other data manipulations
   • should start with an equal sign and be followed by a combination of data, operators, cell addresses and functions

2. spreadsheet operators

   • for specifying an elementary type of operation that wants to perform on the data in a formula
   • if a spreadsheet formula involves more than one operation, it will perorm an operation of a higher order first and then of a lower order
   • when a spreadsheet formula comes across two or more operations of the same order, it will perform them one by one from left to right

3. spreadsheet functions

   • may have to provide it with some arguments
     • a value corresponding to what you have inputted will then be returned
