Phechromocytoma

1. Tumour found in the adrenal medulla which secretes excessive catecholamines.

2. Facial flushing

3. Palpations

4. Hypertension and tachycardia

5. Hyperglycaemia

6. Tremors

7. Diaphoresis

8. Weight loss

9. Anxiety

10. Monitor vital signs, monitor for hypertensive crisis, monitor for chest pain due to increased risk of stroke / MI, provide calm environment, educate patient to eat high calorie diet, avoid energy drinks. Sit the patient up to reduce dyspnoea.

11. Usually caused by a benign tumour

12. Surgery to remove tumour
