bubble and merge sorts

  1. what is a merge sort?

    • A merge sort is when you have a set of numbers like , 4,2,8,2,8,32,4,7,1. you the have to seperate the numbers so they are by themselves. then you have to merge 2 numbers together and order them in the lowest number to the left and the bigger number to the right. then you merge another group and then order them again with the lowest to the left and the highest to the right. once they are all in 1 group you then have to make sure that they are in order again. then finally you go over the last merge to make sure that they are in order of smallest to largest or largest to smallest.
  2. what is a bubble sort?

    • a bubble sort is when you have a group of numbers in a table, and you look at 2 numbers at a time and order them in the way you have to. once you get to the end you have to go over the sort till all the numbers are in order then you will have to go over the sort once more time to make sure that they numbers are in order how they need to be.
      • if the numbers aren't in a table at the start of the question, it is best to put the numbers in a table. this is because it will be easier to complete the sort and will involve less mistakes or even no mistakes.
