E-mails

  1. Choosing an address

    • Email provider
      • A good idea is to have @provider in your email address
    • Sensible name
      • Use your initials or name in the first part of you email address. This means you shouldn't have any problems with friends not knowing who you are and reporting you
    • Think of the future
      • Be careful when choosing an address. If your email doesn't sound professional, it might be deleted by future employers
  2. Sending attachments

    • Paperclip
      • To send an attachment online, press the paperclip icon at the top of the new message and select where you want to get the attachment from
    • Resizing files
      • To resize a file, put it in a zip file before you send it. Or, you can change the size when selecting it
    • File Explorer
      • Open file explorer and find the file you want to send. Select it and press Send To, Mail Recipient
  3. Sending mail

    • Lay-out
      • TO: Main recipient CC: Any other recipients BCC: Other recipients you don't want others to know about Subject: What the email is about
    • Responding
      • You can choose to respond to everybody who has received an email or just the person who sent it. Be aware, it may get annoying if you always press reply all, so only use it if you need to
    • Signatures
      • You can save a signature and use it for signing documents by email so you don't need to print them off.
