1. CPU

   • Fetch, decode, execute instructions
   • inside a CPU
     • Core
       • More cores can do more things all at once
       • dual, quad, octa cores
     • ALU
       • Performs logical operations such as -,+,÷,×
       • Performs arithmetic calculations
     • Control unit
       • Controls flow with in the CPU and data
       • Tells the inputs and outputs what to do with the instructions
     • Cache
     • Registers
       • Memory address register
       • Memory data register
       • Program counter
       • Accumulator
         • Value being worked on
       • Provides temporary storage for the CPU

2. Embedded System

   • A computer system built into a device which does one task over and over again
   • Cheap, reliable and easy to code
   • E.g coffee machine toaster etc
