prototyping
what is the purpose of prototyping
- prototype is a small part of a system that may not be functional
- prototype is created to demonstrate an element of a system
- the people will be able to see what the system is going to be
- they will be able to change the bad and keep the good things about the system
- they can get fees back for the clients and the customer will be happier with the end products
what are the advantages
- you can see what the product is goingto be like before the real system
- you will save money when using prototypes before creating the real thing, before you've tested the system and youll know every thing works
- you can just throw aways any prototyps what aren't worth to keep and change the design, this will save you money to create the real system
what are the disadvantages
- the prototype will take a long time to create and it may not be right and need to change it all
- Incomplete application may cause application not to be used as the full system was designed Incomplete or inadequate problem analysis.
- if the prototype doesn't meet the objectives then you have just wasted all that time and money on that one prototype
the different feature and formats of prototyping
- functional. it performs actions and functions that final system will perform
- illustrate. this is usually an interface such as an input or output screen, this will show what the system is going to look like.
- evolutionary. this is built on during the features or design and development process. this is refined till the it becomes the final application
- throw-away. this shows the client the features and design of the system. this will not be used again. this can be created in different software
