7. Keyboards are data input devices that use keys to input data. Speciality menus are used in restaurants to take an order

8. Microphones are used to input sound and are used in video recording and voice recognition software

9. Webcam capture digital images and input them into the computer. They are used for videoconferencing and on screen display. The bad thing about webcams is that they are expensive and hard to set up

10. Flat Screen monitors are used frequently to ouptut information to the user. One bad point is that they are not visable from some angles however you can get extremely high resolutions

11. Touch screens are used widely in mobile phoned, tablets and interactive whiteboards. They are used in input by the user tapping the screen and output by letting the user view the display. They are good becuase there is no cable needed and they are fast bu tocuh screens are less precise and get dirty easily

14. Sensors are used to detect physical stuff for input into a computer control system, such as temperature, pressure and light. They ar useful as they can tell you when there is something wrong before a major problem occurs and you dont have to open the machine however sensors are really expensive

15. Inkjey printers are affordable and work with windows however they need photopaper to come out with a shiny finish and the ink can become blocked in the printer

16. Laser printers print faster than inkjet printers but they are bigger and heavier than most inkjet printers

17. LED lights are very expenisve to purchase however they can output a wider range of colours but they are more environmentally friendly

18. Acuators are widely used as outputs form a conrol systems , for example it contains a motor and linkage to lift a car park barrier. It is good for systems for disabled people but they are expensive to run.
