Topic 10: Spreadsheets

1. A spreadsheet application such as Excel can store all its data in a single file. The file is called a workbook.

   • A workbook is made up of more 'worksheets'. A worksheet is a single tab in the spreadsheet workbook.

2. Cells

   • A range of cells is a set of cells in a row or column.
   • Labels are any texts that describe the data in a row or column.
   • Data is any value that is entered for the use of calculations.
   • Formulas and functions are mathematical calculations that are carried out automatically.

3. Formulas perform calculations on cell contents.

4. Functions are specialised calculations built into the spreadsheet software.

5. You can format cells by changing font,size,colour,border style,alignment and cell colour.

6. What if calculations allow you to use a spreadsheet to see what would happen if certain figures changed in a spreadsheet.
