         • study replicated 100s of time - finding out STM have limited duration - thus high reliability

2. Limitation: controlled environment- artificial setting- not true to life.

     • furthermore, meaningless trigrams used - not a true test of memory - task V low.

   • uni students - doesn't generalize to wider population.
