1. physical development

   • Gross motor skills
     • can hop 2-3m forwards on each foot separately
     • can bend at the waist and touch their toes without bending at the knees
     • show good balance
   • Fine motor skills
     • can draw a person with a head, a body,arms,legs, a nose , a mouth and eyes
     • have a good control over pencils and paint brushes
     • can do jigsaw puzzles with interlocking pieces
     • can count the fingers on one hand using the index finger of the other
   • sensory
     • can match ten to twelve colours

2. Cognitive and language development

   • are interest n reading and writing
   • can give their full name, age, address and often their birthday
   • ask about abstract words
   • talk about the past, present and future with a good sense of time
   • love to be read stories and will then act them out in detail later

3. Emotional and Social development

   • choose their own friends
   • dress and undress alone
   • enjoy caring for pets
   • have very definite likes and dislike
   • show sympathy and comfort friend who are hurt

4. Moral and spiritual development

   • instinctively help other children when they are distressed
   • understand the social rules of their culture
