   • long enough (min 8 characters)
   • special characters

   • soft ware or hard where
   • controls what data can pass through it

3. access rights and permissions

   • read the data
   • copy
   • edit or right

4. physical protection

   • locks on doors
   • biometric finger prints
   • key
   • lock
   • card
     • RIDF (radio frequency identification)
   • SECURITY GAURDS /DOGS
   • location of stored data upstairs away from entrances

5. encryption

   • stops them reading and changing the data

6. back up data

   • make a copy
   • should be stored away from the original data
