computer performance
RAM
- Stores the programs, parts of the operating system and the files currently being used.
- Generally, the faster the RAM, the faster the processing speed. With faster RAM, you increase the speed at which memory transfers information to other components.
CORES
- The number of independent processors in the CPU which run the fetch decode execute cycle simultaneously.
- CPUs with multiple cores have more power to run multiple programs at the same time.
CLOCK SPEED
- The number of fetch decode execute cycles a CPU can perform per second. This is measured in hertz (Hz).
- A computer's processor clock speed determines how quickly the central processing unit (CPU) can retrieve and interpret instructions. This helps your computer complete more tasks by getting them done faster.
CACHE
- Cache is a small amount of memory which is a part of the CPU - closer to the CPU than RAM. It is used to temporarily hold instructions and data that the CPU is likely to reuse.
