     • the population does not grow in this stage because high death rates cancel out high birth rates
       • Famine,disease and natural disasters cause high death rates
   • Stage 2
     • Countries develop their economies.The birth rate remains high but the death rate declines;population grows.
       • Governments provide clean water and health services
   • Stage 3
     • Economic development more advance.Parents plan family size.Population growth is less.
       • Families have fewer children
       • Children live longer = good health services
   • Stage 4
     • Population growth is very low.Birth and death rates = very low.
       • people survive to old age.
       • Countries are wealthy.
   • Stage 5
     • The death rate is greater than the birth rate.the population begins to decline in this stage.
       • mothers have very few children
       • more of the population is elderly
