Fan duct

1. The moving flap

   • May be too heavy for the mechanism?
     • Use a lighter material
     • Make the mechanism stronger somehow
       • Has to be fastened very tightly to the moving flap
   • How do we get it to stop at 5mm increments
     • Create some sort of groove in the wall of the fan duct?
       • Means the wall has to be pretty thick
         • None of the features can be smaller than 3x3mm
         • None of the air can leak out
         • Means that there would have to be another feature sticking out of the moving flap
     • Maybe need another mechanism?
       • Needs to be simple enough to create with not a lot of parts
         • Check what parts we can use?

2. The sloped bottom

   • What angle should the bottom slope be?
     • Depends on the length of the duct
   • How does this benefit the air flow?
     • Make sure the air diverges correctly?
       • RESEARCH AIR FLOW

3. Length of the duct

   • Can't be too short or the air won't diverge enough to cover all the fins
   • If it's too long the pressure drop will be too big

   • Since we've decided on a sloped bottom, the stand will be different than expected
