1. defining , if they are not enclosed in commas and are assentian in the sentence to give it the intended meaning.

   • when we find verbs with a preposition , in informal language this preposition goes at the end of the relative clause.
     • 1this is the boy i was looking FOR. 2that´s woman who stole my coat. 3 that´s the man that i spoke to last week. 4 where is the apple that i told you to not to eat?.5 this is the cat which i adopted. 6 the hospital where i was born is being knocked down. 7 the man who invented this product really cares about the environment. 8 a dog whose owner lest it run loose may cause an accident. 9 the inventors whom i interviewed told me how they thought to his product. 10 they day will come when we don´t use plastic anymore.
   • is this type of sentence we willuse the following relative pronouns
     • people ---- who/that+whose (possessión). this is the boy( who/ that) isaw last night, this is the boy whose toy was missing. animals and things---- which/ that + whose possession

2. no defining, if they are enclosed in commas and make a dispensable clarification that provides additional but not- essential information. in this case the pronuns are the same, with the exception of that, which cannot be used in this type of relative clause, and why , which is considered to always provide essential information and therefore has no place in the context of a non defining clause.
