Ferrous Materials
Ferrous Materials
- Ferrous materials are those metals whose main component is iron. That is, a ferrous material can be pure iron or an alloy of iron with other metals.
Non-Ferrous Materials
- They are all metals and alloys that do not have iron in their chemical composition. In general, they are soft and have little mechanical strength. The most important are 7: Copper, Zinc, Lead, Tin, Aluminum, Nickel and Manganese.
Ceramic materials
- Is one consisting of metallic or non-metallic inorganic solids that have been manufactured by heat treatment. Traditional ceramics are composed of clay, however today there are numerous ceramic materials of different composition that have many applications, for example in the aeronautical industry and in medicine.
Polymer Materials
- Polymers are complex structures composed of large or relatively large molecules that are made up of smaller molecules. A polymer, in other words, is composed of many monomers (smaller molecules).
