Factors that affect network performance

1. Bandwidth

   • A measure of the amount of data that can be transferred over a given period of time.

2. Number of users/devices connected to a network.

   • Too many users or devices on the same network can cause the network to slow down if there is insufficient bandwidth for the data.

3. Latency

   • A factor that can affect the performance of computer networks.

4. Error rate

   • The error rate is calculated by dividing the number of errors by the total number of data transmissions.

5. Data collisions

   • When devices try to communicate with each other at the same time, their signals collide and the transmission fails.
