Act 2. U1. Pt.2.

  1. Method 1. Create the team. 2. Formulate the objective. 3. To establish the main stages for the achievement of the objective. 4. Identify potential problems. 5. Identify and select countermeasures.

  2. Objective is formulate the necessary steps to complete a project, anticipate potential problems to design appropriate responses to address them.

  3. Characteristics: • Plan activities to achieve a goal. • Identify possible contingencies that may adversely affect the development of a project or the achievement of the objective. • Plan countermeasures that reduce the effect of anticipated difficulties.

  4. Diagram of decision process: allows to analyze the phases to be developed for the achievement of an objective. Identifies potential unintended contingencies and establishing specific countermeasures to counter such contingencies, shows the degree of complexity in the scope of a project or objective

  5. Advantages • Shows the degree of complexity in the scope of an objective by highlighting possible difficulties. • Allows to develop alternatives to difficulties that may arise, in the established path, to reach a goal • Encourages team members to devise solutions, increasing their commitment to the goal.

  6. Advantages • Shows in a single document the path of a project. • Allows activities for a given project, their sequence and duration, to be known. • Facilitates the control of the project, allowing to respond to difficulties that may arise during its development. • Unrealistic plans are evidenced, giving opportunity to their readjustment.

  7. Method 1. Identify the activities. 2. To determine the first activity of the project. 3. Initiate the management of activities. 4. Continue the management of activities. 5. Connect activities and assign times. 6. Specify the fundamental path.

  8. Characteristics: • Plan a series of interrelated activities to achieve a given goal. • Find the most realistic way to effectively develop a project, in the minimum time possible. • Monitor the progress of a project and its component activities. • Identify project priorities.

  9. Objective: Provide the «critical route» of the project, which is the flow of decisive activities, where delays will affect the schedule of the entire project. It also shows which activities can accelerate the project.

  10. Arrow Diagram: It indicates the order in which the activities of a project should be executed, allowing planning and monitoring of its development. This tool is based on the application of the critical path methodology. It is a simplification of the PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique) planning tool. The method was developed by the United States Navy to support the Polaris nuclear submarine project. Its aim was to facilitate the planning and programming of projects of great complexity and magnitude. The arrow diagram is a simplification of the PERT method. The arrows diagram makes it possible for series of parallel activities to be revealed. In this way, it allows the adjustment of the programming of the project and facilitates that it is carried out in the minimum time possible.
