General Intelligence
- The single common factor that contributes to performance on any intellectual task (Grison & Gazzaniga, 2019)
Fluid and Crystalized Intelligence
- Fluid intelligence is processing information like reasoning, drawing analogies, and being able to think quickly (Grison & Gazzaniga, 2019). Crystallized intelligence is the knowledge gained through experience such as vocabulary and spelling and being able to problem solve with this knowledge (Grison & Gazzaniga, 2019)
Multiple Intelligence
- Several different types of intellectual talents that are independent of one another. For an example, mathematical/logical would be the ability to calculate and think sequentially (Grison & Gazzaniga, 2019).
Triarchic Theory
- Three different types of intelligence. The first one is analytical intelligence which is basically standard intelligence so problem solving, completing analogies, figuring out puzzles, and similar challenges. The second one is practical intelligence which is dealing with everyday tasks like being a good judge of people and being an effective leader. The last one is creative intelligence which is the ability to gain insight and solve novel problems (Grison & Gazzaniga, 2019).
Emotional Intelligence
- This intelligence consists of four groups which are managing your emotions, using your emotions to guide your thoughts and actions, recognizing other peoples emotions, and understanding emotional language. People who have this intelligence can understand emotional experiences in themselves and others and respond to them productively (Grison & Gazzaniga, 2019).
