Was a man of weakness and limited outlook
Weak willed and of limited intelligence
Was going to continue the autocratic ideology of his father, Alexander III, and
also had ideas instilled in him by his personal childhood tutor, Pobedonostsev.
Easily influenced by those close to him: E.g. his
wife, the Tsarina, Alexandra; Pobedonostsev.
Nicholas felt he had been put in place by God,
and so had a divine right to rule (which was
backed up by the Russian Orthodox Church).
Was a bad decision maker, which was made worse by those
surrounding him not highlighting bad decisions (Yes Men).
