  1. dilation means to resize something.
    1. When you dilate a figure, you will have two images, the orignal image, called the pre-image and the new resized image
      1. Image and shapes are when the only difference is sized
        1. If the scale factor is greater than 1 the image is an enlargement ( a stretch)
          1. If the scale factor is between 0 and 1 the image is a reduction (a shrink)
            1. All dilation have a center and a scale
            2. Scale factor tells us how much the figure stretches or shrink
              1. The orignal figure is labeled ABC
                1. The dilated figure would be A' B' C'
