   • Insuring all data entered is sensible

3. Maintainability

   • code written in such a way that when other programmers are asked to develop it they can make full sense of it
     • reducing the chances of mistake/bugs
       • indentation formatting comments

4. Testing

   • Iterative Testing
     • Testing the code currently being developed
   • Final testing
     • tested as a whole

     • invalid data
     • borderline data

5. Authentication

   • Defensive strategy
     • Also wants to renew things such as passwords
