How a computer Works

1. Binary

   • The 1s and 0s which make up a computer screen
   • Binary is used to represent the images you see on a monitor

2. Networks

   • A group of computers which are connected and share information
   • Star Network
     • If one workstation goes down then the rest are fine
     • Really expensive and requires professional work
   • Ring Network/Bus Network
     • Cheap and affordable
     • If one goes down or it gets a virus, the system is screwed

3. Input

   • Output
     • How a computer gives you information
     • E.g. Projector, Speaker,
   • What you use to communicate with the computer
   • E.g. Keyboard, Touchscreen

4. Hardware

   • components inside a computer
   • E.g. Motherboard, Heat Sink
