Super Smash Bros Algorithm
Algorithm Constructs
- Assignment
- Pseudocode Example
- DECLARE 'charactername'
- SET 'charactername' TO R.O.B
- DECLARE 'charactername'
- An assignment is a variable that can be swapped out for meaningful names that relate to the data they contain.
- Pseudocode Example
- Modularisation
- Modularisation is used to reduce the complexity of a system by deconstructing the code into smaller more manageable and easily maintained modules otherwise known as 'functions'.
- Pseudocode Example
- FUNCTION delivery_charge
- CALCULATE totalCost
- IF (totalCost > $10) THEN
- OUTPUT ‘no delivery charge’
- ELSE
- OUTPUT ‘$5 delivery charge’
- ENDIF
- OUTPUT 'thankyou'
- END FUNCTION
- OUTPUT 'thankyou'
- ENDIF
- OUTPUT ‘$5 delivery charge’
- ELSE
- OUTPUT ‘no delivery charge’
- IF (totalCost > $10) THEN
- CALCULATE totalCost
- FUNCTION delivery_charge
- Pseudocode Example
- Modularisation is used to reduce the complexity of a system by deconstructing the code into smaller more manageable and easily maintained modules otherwise known as 'functions'.
- Sequence
- Sequencing is the order at which steps are carried out, steps must be in order otherwise code will not work.
- Pseudocode Example
- DECLARE damagecount
- SET damagecount TO 0
- OUTPUT the value of damage count
- SET damagecount TO 0
- DECLARE damagecount
- Pseudocode Example
- Sequencing is the order at which steps are carried out, steps must be in order otherwise code will not work.
- Selection and Condition (IF, IF ELSE)
- Selection statement uses a condition to select, or determine the next line of the program that is to be exectuted.
- Pseudocode Example
- CALCULATE totalCost
- IF (totalCost > $10) THEN
- OUTPUT 'no delivery charge'
- ELSE
- OUTPUT '$5 delivery charge'
- ENDIF
- OUTPUT 'thankyou'
- ENDIF
- OUTPUT '$5 delivery charge'
- ELSE
- OUTPUT 'no delivery charge'
- IF (totalCost > $10) THEN
- CALCULATE totalCost
- Pseudocode Example
- Selection statement uses a condition to select, or determine the next line of the program that is to be exectuted.
- Iteration
- Iteration otherwise known as repetition is used when a piece of code is repeated or looped. A FOR loop is used when the exact number of times a piece of code has to be looped is declared. A WHILE loop is used when an output is either true or false.
- DECLARE count
- SET count TO 0
- FOR count = 1 to 10
- OUTPUT count
- END FOR
- OUTPUT 'finished'
- Pseudocode Example
- FUNCTION delivery_charge
- CALCULATE totalCost
- IF (totalCost > $10) THEN
- OUTPUT 'no delivery charge'
- ELSE
- OUTPUT '$5 delivery charge'
- ENDIF
- OUTPUT 'thankyou'
- END FUNCTION
- OUTPUT 'thankyou'
- ENDIF
- OUTPUT '$5 delivery charge'
- ELSE
- OUTPUT 'no delivery charge'
- IF (totalCost > $10) THEN
- CALCULATE totalCost
- FUNCTION delivery_charge
- Pseudocode Example
- OUTPUT 'finished'
- END FOR
- OUTPUT count
- FOR count = 1 to 10
- SET count TO 0
- Pseudocode Example
- DECLARE count
- Iteration otherwise known as repetition is used when a piece of code is repeated or looped. A FOR loop is used when the exact number of times a piece of code has to be looped is declared. A WHILE loop is used when an output is either true or false.

Prescribed Criteria
- Develop an Algorithm using Pseudocode conventions
- 1. Super Smash Bros
- Develop an ultimate high damage finishing offensive strategy to eliminate the opponent.
- Use at least five different attack moves (Side Special Move, Final Smash, Down Special Move, etc).
- 2. Just Dance
- Develop an algorithm for an easy, medium, hard or extreme song.
- Use only a verse or chorus from the chosen song to develop the algorithm.
- 1. Super Smash Bros
- Develop an Algorithm using Pseudocode conventions

Zelda's Moves
- Naryu’s Love (B)
- Envelopes herself in a crystal that deals damage and reflects projectiles.
- Din’s Fire (Side + B)
- Fires magic that explodes after a time or when the button is released.
- Farore’s Wind (Up + B)
- Teleports herself in any direction. Deals damage when disappearing and reappearing.
- Phantom Smash (Down + B)
- Assembles a phantom, then sends it charging forward. The timing of the button press determines its attack.
- Triforce of Wisdom (Final Smash)
- Zelda uses the Triforce of Wisdom against an opponent, damaging and launching them. If the opponent has 100% damage or more, they are sealed away (and KO’d) instead of being launched.
- Naryu’s Love (B)
Character Choices
- Zelda
- Negatives
- Ineffective against heavy-hitting close-range oponents
- Lightweight and Floaty can easily be knocked off the battlefield
- Positives
- Can be used in a lot of good combo options.
- Is nimble and quick being able to dodge attacks more easily
- Powerful final smash.
- Negatives
- Kirby
- Negatives
- Kirby's damage compared to other characters is fairly weak.
- Isn't as effective against heavy hitting enemies and long-ranged attackers.
- Can easily miss opnents when using FInal Smash.
- Positives
- Can easily recover from falling off the battlefield, due to high amount of Jumps and slow falling.
- After swallowing his enemies he gains their powers.
- Negatives
- Zelda
