Usability Principle
- Utility
- The principle of utility is the principle that actions/products are to be judged by their usefulness in certain criteria (Broome, 1991). In the case of game, the game should be useful to meet the requirements of the user persona.
- Safety
- Safety is the principle of protecting the user from creating errors and preventing the loss of user data and the credentials of user data (Usability | CS4760 & CS5760: Human-Computer Interactions & Usability, 2017). This allows the needs of the users in the user persona to be fulfilled. Such as personal databases for each player.
- Effectiveness
- Effectiveness is the efficiency of the process when creating something (effectiveness meaning - Google Search, 2021). In terms of the game, it should work effectively by providing a game that solve all the problems in the user persona and exceed the needs of users.
- Learnability
- The term learnability is defined as how easy it is for a user to understand a design and use said design (Nielsen, 2012). This will allow the user to be able to understand and play the game without having troubles which will slow them down.
- Accessibility
- The term accessibility is the concept of whether a product or service can be used everyone no matter the circumstances (The Interaction Design Foundation, 2016).
