Secure Database
Self Determined Criteria
- Always Display Information in table format
- Data is to be consistently displayed in table format, making the information clear and easy to read.
- Always Display Information in table format
Prescribed Criteria
- • You must use 4 different data types in your table
- INT
- VARCHAR
- CHAR
- DATE
- You must have 1 column that uses Hashing to securely store that information
- A column (e.g. TFN, email, etc) was hashed by using hashing python algorithm, ensuring personal or private data cannot be easily accessed.
- • You must have 1 column that uses Caesar Cipher to store secret information
- A column was encrypted using Caesar Cipher to protect important personal information from being accessed by unwanted people. This code works by shifting each letter in the data down the alphabet by a specific number.
- Your database must have at least 5 records
- The database includes more than 5 records, which ensures that the system can handle a realistic amount of data and demonstrates that the table structure works correctly when storing multiple entries.
- • You must use 4 different data types in your table
Security Measure
- Hashing
- Hashing is a python algorithm, ensuring personal or private data cannot be easily accessed.
- Cyphering
- Caesar Cipher is to protect important personal information from being accessed by unwanted people. This code works by shifting each letter in the data down the alphabet by a specific number.
- Hashing
User Personal Data Requirements
- Use strong encryption methods to protect sensitive data
- Should Be able to easily access information
- Should be able to be secure from hackers and other softwares from accessing clients bank details and money
Data Dictionary
- Name of client
- Tax amount paid
- TFN
- Clients Bank account Email Address
- Clients Bank account Password
- Date tax paid
Coding
- SQL
- Used to make data base
- Python
- Hashing and Salt
- SQL
SQL Data Types
- Char
- A CHAR data type was included for fixed-length text values, such as codes or abbreviations. This guarantees consistent storage size and faster retrieval for short, uniform data.
- Varchar
- A VARCHAR data type was used for text fields where the length of the data varies, such as names or email addresses.
- Date
- A CHAR data type was included for fixed-length text values, such as codes or abbreviations. This guarantees consistent storage size and faster retrieval for short, uniform data.
- INT
- The INT requirement is used to store numerical values such as TFN, unique id, etc.
- NOT NULL
- NOT NULL constraint ensures that a column cannot contain a NULL value, meaning every row in the table must have a defined value for that column.
- Unique NOT NULL
- Char
