   • measures instructions processed by cycle.
   • The faster the speed, the more instructions can be processed
   • measured in Hertz

4. Cache memory

   • The memory of the processor
   • Expensive
   • in between the RAM and the CPU

5. system buses

   • program instructions and data move between the main memory

6. RAM

   • Random Access Memory
   • used for the operating system
   • Holds Data that is being used at that time
   • Volatile

7. B.I.O.S (Basic imput output system)

   • The process the computer goes through when the computer is powered on

8. Volatile Memory

   • Computer storage that is only there while the power is on. it is deleted when power off

9. ROM

   • Read-only memory
     • Non-Vilatile

10. HDD

    • Hard Disk Drive
      • Non-Volatile

11. Virtual Memory

    • volatile memory
      • storage drive for when the RAM gets full
