Expected Ranges for ABG
(Arterial Blood Gases)
- pH: Normal/Expected Range = 7.35 to 7.45)
Below is acidic & above is Alkaline
- PCO2 Normal/Expected
Range = 35 to 45
- ATI EXAMPLE OF METABOLIC ACIDOSIS
- pH 7.25, PCO240 & HCO3 18
- 7.25 is acidic. 40 is WNL, 18 is Metobolic
- Metabolic is when the pH and PCO 2 values deviate in opposite directions.
- Metabolic is when the pH and PCO 2 values deviate in opposite directions.
