Reflex Arc
- Stimulus-eg hammer hits the knee
- Stimulus energy is changed by receptors into electrical impulse
- Impulse travels down sensory neurone directly to spinal cord (CNS)
- Impulse is then sent along relay neurone which RELAYS it to the Motor Neurone.
- The MOTOR neurone sends the impulse to the effector (muscle/gland).
- Effector reacts to stimulus (in this case, knee jerks up).
- Effector reacts to stimulus (in this case, knee jerks up).
