Target Audience (Based on audience theories)
As seen earlier in our blogs we have used survey money twice in order to analyse our target audience and demographic
Maslow's Hierarchy of needs
- Due to this being a short piece of media it is incredibly difficult to meet all of these needs. However we are able to meet the needs it is possible for peices of media to meet things such as esteem with some even being able to meet self-actualisation depending on the message it conveys. Our piece on the other hand is more designed to make audiences think about the effects such events csn have on the general population and, given the political unease of our times, the possibility of it taking place.
Rubicam and Young's 4Cs
- Within the 4Cs diagram I believe that one of the most prominent groups that our audience would fall into would be the Reformer as the general message of our piece is to question what would happen if an event such as this were ever to take place on English soil, secondly, I believe that the production would also be enjoyed by the Explorer as it looks at modern day life in a totally different way, allowing the audience a different perspective of life.
- The group The Aspirer would enjoy the project the least as they focus on the more materialistic things in life and care more about status and how they are perceived and, due to the piece being set around the idea that tens of thousands have been wiped out and social status no longer matters I doubt this would appeal to this section of audiences

Uses and Gratification Theory
- Identity: Though it is hard to state how a viewer may be able to form or reinforce an identity based on our production, it may help them reaffirm thier ideas on the subject of a post-apocalyptic world
- Relationships: Given that our piece is about an event that could take place it can begin to create discussions between people, thus allowing social groups to be formed based on these opinions that are discussed
- Escapism:Our piece does provide a form of escaplsm to the user as it provides a new oulook on an already existing society and allows the viewer to become engrossed within it allowing them to forget day to day hassles for a short while.
- Surveillance: This production provides very little in the way of real world information as it is within a purely fictional setting.
