PROCEDURE
Similar to Milgrams original study...
Except at each incorrect answer the victim was shoicked only when the 'teacher' physically forced his hand onto the plate
At 150volts...
Learner refused to place his hand on the plate, and the experimenter ordered the subject to put their hand on the plate
RESULTS
12/40 subjects forcibly held the learners hand in place
30%
... and continued to admininster shocks up to the maximum 450volts
CONCLUSION
In relation to the original study...
Obedience decreased as the subject came into close proximity with the victim
They had to physically administer the pain instead
