      1. Eli Witney built the first WATER MILL to power the Mechanical Spinning Loom
        1. Cotton Gin created took the seeds out of cotton
          1. This made it so the slaves did not have to pick the seeds out of the cotton
            1. A team of slaves could only pick 1 pound of cotton a week.
              1. The cotton plant would cut the hands of those who picked it.
            2. Eli Whitney did not know that it would increase the Slave industry.
              1. The slave owners would buy the Cotton Gin and purchase more slaves to run it so they could produce more cotton, therefore making more money.
            3. Samuel Slater's blueprints of the Mechanical Spinning Loom from Europe
              1. Samuel Slater dressed as a farmer to get to America in order to sneak the blueprints over to America.

                1. Invented the Factory System
                  1. The factory System is where there are many different machines in one big warehouse.
                    1. The factories were dangerous because people had to move between the machines without regard to safety.
