World Wars
1. World War One
  1. Began on the 28th July 1914
  2. The two main sides were the Allies: Britain, France and Russia and on the other side were Germany and Austria-Hungary
  3. Ended on 11th November 1918
  4. 30 countries involved
  5. 9 million were killed; 21 million were wonded
  6. In the Battle of Somme, 30,000 were killed
2. World War Two
  1. Began on the 3rd September 1939
  2. 50 to 70 million people were killed
  3. 80% of the Soviets born in 1923 didn't survive World War Two
  4. Women were first in the Military in WW2 in Britain
  5. The leaders of the Aliies were Franklin Delavo Roosevelt (America), Winston Churchill (Britain) and Joseph Stalin (Russia/USSR)
  6. The leaders of the Axis were Adolf Hilter (Germany), Benito Mussolini (Italy) and Emperor Hirohiti (Japan)

2. Nearly 3,000 people were killed and 400 of them were police officers and firefighters
3. It was a terrorist attack on The World Trade Center Twin Towers
4. Up to 50,000 employees worked in the World Trade Center and a additional 40,000 passed through the complex.
5. The rescue and the clean up of 1.8 million tonnes took 9 months.
6. Only 18-20 people were rescued alive out of the site.
7. 3,051 children lost at least one parent.
8. It took firefighters 100 days to get rid of the fire caused by the attack.
9. The second biggest loss of life was the British nationality after the American nationality (first)
10. The total time of the collapse of World Trade Centre Towers was 102 minutes.
