Lexical vs. Semantic processing
Translation: words/meanings can exist independently (e.g., some foreign words not simply translated to English).
Imperfect Mapping: single words can be linked to multiple meanings (bank)/ given meanings associated w/ more than one word (sofa/couch).
Elasticity: words can have different meanings depending on context (a "tall" tale vs. "tall" man).
