Peptide Bond:
Proteins are linear sequences of amino acids which are linked together by a peptide bond.
Peptide bond formed by the alpha amino acid group and the alpha carboxyl group of another
Once the amino acids join together they form a dipeptide bond , with a free amino group at one end and a free carboxyl group at the other which means that there can be more amino acids linked
Peptide bond formed between carbon and nitrogen exhibit partial double bond character to closeness of the carbonyl- carbon oxygen double bond allowing the resonance of structures.
