The Earth has 4 main layers - The outer core, the crust, the mantle and the inner core.
The outer core is very thick and is a liquid.
The inner core is extremely hot. The temperature is about 5000 Celsius.
The mantle is semi-molten and 3000 thick.
The crust is where humans and animals stand on. It is not very thick.

The Earth has 4 main layers - the outer core, the mantle, the inner core and the crust
The outer core is 2000 km thick and is a liquid.
The mantle is semi-molten and is 3000 km thick.
The inner core is 5,500 Celsius so it is extremely hot and it is made out of iron and nickel.
The crust is where humans and animals stand. It is 5-70 km thick so it is quite thin for a layer. There are two types of crust on Earth, continental crust and oceanic crust. Oceanic crust is more denser than continental.
Page 3
Heat from the core causes convection current in the mantle. There currents move around and slowly move the crust. In some place crust is destroyed and in others new crust is formed.
Earthquakes and volcanoes usually form at plate boundaries. The mantle is much more hotter than the crust as it's rock is molten. Molten magma comes up from the mantle and escapes, turning into lava. This is what happens in volcanoes.

,The Earth has four main layers - The outer core, the mantle, the inner core and the crust.
The outer core is 2000 km thick and is a liquid.
The mantle is semi-molten and is 5000 km thick.
The inner core is 5,500 Celsius so it is extremely hot. It is very dense and is made out of iron and nickel.
The crust is the rocky outer layer and is not very thick as it is 5-70 km. There are two types of crust. Continental crust and oceanic crust. Oceanic crust is more denser and thinner than continental crust.
Heat from the core causes continental currents. These currents slowly move the crust. Crust is destroyed in some places and in other places crust is formed.
Earthquakes and volcanoes are often found at plate boundaries. The mantle is much more hotter than the crust as it's rock is molten. At boundaries molten magma is formed and escapes as lava through volcanoes.

The Earth has 4 main layers. The inner core, the outer core, the mantle and the crust.
The inner core is 5,500 degrees so its extremely hot. It is very dense and is made out of iron and nickel.
The outer core is 2,000 km thick.
The mantle is made out of semi-molten and is 3,300 km thick so is quite thin.
the crust is the outer layer of the earth where humans and animals stand on. The crust is only 5-70 km thick so is very thin. There are two types of crust. Oceanic and continental crust. Oceanic crust is more thin and dense the continental crust. Oceanic crust is found in the ocean and continental is found on land.
Heat from the core causes convection currents in the mantle and slowly moves the crust around. In places the crust is destroyed in others crust is formed.
Earthquakes and volcanoes are usually found on plate boundaries. The mantle is much hotter than the crust as it has molten inside it which is found in magma. The molten is in the mantle and escapes at plate boundaries turning into lava.
